Spring 2015 Faulkner Facts and Fiddlings

Facts and Fiddlings journal, Faulkner County Historical Society

Local author Bill Thomas contributes often to the Faulkner County Historical Society’s journal Faulkner Facts and Fiddlings. His latest efforts appear in the spring 2015 issue in the form of an informal history of Wooster and recollections of Conway’s old Victory Courts and the Conark Courts.

The Wooster article is accompanied by old photographs contributed by local residents.

Also included are a report on the presentation of the county’s Civil War commemorative markers and a poem by Ron Spradlin.

The history of the procurement and of the anchors at the courthouse and at Toad Suck Park by World War II Navy veteran Al Hiegel rounds out the bulk of this journal’s offerings.

Faulkner County Museum’s director Lynita Langley-Ware reports on the latest accomplishments and happenings at the museum.

The issue is now available at the county library on Tyler Street and at the Faulkner County Museum.

The cost is $4 for this publication that continues to delve into Faulkner County’s history.

The society’s major function is, in cooperation with the Faulkner County Museum, to promote the discovery, preservation and dissemination of any material which may help to establish and/or illustrate the history of the county and its cities, towns, villages and institutions.

Faulkner Facts and Fiddlings, edited by Vivian Lawson Hogue, has been published for more than 50 years and has won awards in the past.
